The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Started in 2018, the Loresho Kumon Centre is located in the serene leafy suburb of Loresho. The calm and quiet environment overlooking trees and greenery is the perfect place for concentration and focus. The centre has separate areas for the Mathematics and English study as well as a comfortable reading area for after class. We recommend that books are borrowed from the library and reading is encouraged at home for both the parents and students.
The benefit of the Kumon method is that it is available for all ages, with our youngest student being 3 years old! Our students at the centre attend from Grade One onwards, however, even adults are welcome! The centre has a number of assistants and we aim to keep the ratio of Instructor/assistants to students low in order to be able to observe each and every individual and guide them to be self–learners.
Parents are advised to drop their children off and to come back to pick them up, in order for the student to be fully focused and to limit all distractions as much as possible, in order to maximise the benefits of the Kumon Study. There is a supermarket and a fuel station nearby, as well as two restaurants, Lemon Lounge and Wasp & Sprout, where parents can grab a coffee whilst waiting.
The centre views communication of great importance and therefore urges all parents to keep the staff informed of any changes, holidays, progress of the student and any areas that they would like to focus on as learning opportunities; staff of the centre promise to do the same. The centre will make use of continuous updates on the students’ progress via Level Certificates, prize giving events, WhatsApp videos and regular meetings to communicate on progress and goals for their children.
