About this centre

KUMON CONNECT available In-centre & Online Classes
In the heart of Dubai, Kumon Dubai Hills opened in January 2022. As the first centre in the United Arab Emirates, we proudly welcome children of all ages and abilities offering Math and English programmes.

Centrally located in the community, the centre is perfectly positioned for residents yet easily accessible to those in surrounding areas.  The programmes are individualized to each student to develop his or her skills to the maximum potential, regardless of age and which curriculum they follow. Their understanding and key skills are assessed by the Instructor to determine the appropriate starting point and the learning plan is shared openly with parents. The work is set at the just right level to keep them motivated and challenged.

Students then have the option of paper worksheets or tablet worksheets with a pen in addition to in-centre and/or online classes, guided by the instructor. This approach allows us to further tailor our programmes to what is best for each individual child. Regardless of which option students take, the programme remains the same and worksheets are uniquely designed to be completed independently every day.

This daily self-study allows students to become capable and confident learners beyond their school grade level.

About the Instructor

I moved to the UAE from the UK in 2017, starting off in Abu Dhabi and now in Dubai where I live with my husband and two small children.  I have always been passionate about developing children’s abilities which led me work as a Speech and Language Therapist for the last 8 years in various settings including preschools, primary and secondary schools. I had a specialist role to support their literacy and language development in order for them to access the British National Curriculum.  During my training, I worked at a Kumon centre as a head assistant. This gave me first-hand experience of the Kumon method of learning for children of all ages and study skills.  I was genuinely amazed by their maths and English abilities, especially those who had reached beyond their school grade level. I learnt so much from the students seeing them grow in confidence and become true self-learners. I whole-heartedly believe in the Kumon method of learning, and it is this that guided me to open a study centre of my own.  I love how each small step builds to achieving individual goals and the result of an independent, confident and happy child.

Popular Questions

Students can start learning with Kumon in Dubai from the age of six upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
Kumon offers much more than extra lessons and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
