About this centre

We are excited to announce the opening of Kumon Sobha Hartland in September 2024. Our center is situated in the heart of Downtown Dubai, in Sobha Hartland, providing us with the unique opportunity to serve families across the area.

At Kumon Sobha Hartland, our mission is to empower each student to maximize their potential, fostering them as better members of society. We believe in the transformative power of education and are dedicated to helping students excel beyond their grade level.

We enroll children aged 6 and above, catering to students of all abilities. Our programs in Maths and English are designed to support various curriculums and learning needs. Each student begins with an initial assessment to determine their starting point, ensuring personalized and effective learning paths that consider their current abilities.

To accommodate diverse learning preferences, we offer both paper and tablet worksheets. Classes are conducted both online and in-person, providing flexibility and accessibility for our students and their families.

We look forward to welcoming you to Kumon Sobha Hartland and enchancing your child's educational journey.

About the Instructor

My journey with Kumon began as a parent seeking to enhance and support my daughter's educational progress. I was truly amazed by the  positive impact of the Kumon method on my daughter, which helped her achieve significant success. This inspired me to transition into an instructor role to perpetuate and champion these principles. My commitment lies in guiding every student towards realizing their utmost capabilities and equipping them to thrive beyond their grade level.

In 2022, my family moved from London to Dubai. As a British citizen, adjusting to life in a new country was both exciting and challenging. Along with my husband and two children, we embraced the vibrant culture and opportunities that Dubai has to offer.

I am a qualified Chartered Accountant with over a decade of experience in the field of finance. I have always had a passion for working with children and used to volunteer at local libraries in London, helping them read and engaging in various activities to support their academic journey. Once we moved to Dubai, Kumon was a natural choice for me, allowing me to persue my passion and fulfill my desire to contribute to children's education and development.

Popular Questions

Students can start learning with Kumon in Dubai from the age of six upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
Kumon offers much more than extra lessons and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
