About this centre

Welcome to the pioneering Kumon Centre of Islamabad, located in the prestigious Bahria Town Phase 4. At our Centre, we welcome all children within the range of toddlers and high school students to bring out the best version of themselves.

One of the cornerstones of our Centre is individualized study approach to cater to your child’s specific needs and this personalized learning ensures that the learner progresses at his/her own pace, mastering concepts thoroughly before advancing.  We inculcate the love of learning and encourage the habits of staying focused, concentrating and discipline in our learners.

In our Centre we care for every single child, we strive to discover the true potential of each pupil and then provide the "just-right" level of work to develop a positive learning attitude and growth mindset that will stay with them for life.

Students have the choice to do uniquely designed worksheets on paper or tablets under the guidance of the instructor. Irrespective of which mode of studying the pupil selects, the outcome of the Kumon based learning will be seen through the self-learning, enhanced mental comprehension and immaculate correction skills of the learner.

About the Instructor

I have been associated with the education sector for over ten years as a primary and middle school teacher at one of the most renowned schools in Islamabad. During my experience as a teacher, I observed a half-hearted approach towards studies in my students. In all honesty, I experienced it myself growing up during my early school years.
I was fortunate to turn it round for myself with my perseverance and during the pursuance of my master’s degree however the lack of motivation in my students to excel bothered me.

I was lucky to work as an Assistant at a Kumon Centre in Fisher East Indiana USA and that was an eye-opening experience for me. I met some amazing students eager to learn new topics, excited to tackle problems by themselves and thoroughly enjoying their work. Kumon thus seemed to be the missing link required by the children in my community to enhance their attitude and mindset towards studies. This became my main motivation to pursue Kumon in Islamabad.

I am now excited to work with the children growing up in Islamabad and contribute towards them becoming confident learners and most importantly enjoying their learning journey with Kumon.

Popular Questions

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
