About this centre

Kumon Model Town is conveniently and centrally located in the Bank Square.
Our centre provides a warm and encouraging environment where students aged 3 years and above can thrive confidently.

We firmly believe in Toru Kumon's (founder of the Kumon methodology) philosophy that children have a limitless capacity for self-learning. Through numerous student experiences, Toru Kumon discovered that a child's potential isn't predetermined but can be nurtured. He redefined "nurture" as the "instructional ability of instructors." Our experienced and passionate instructors are dedicated to helping children develop a love for learning. We take pride in nurturing our students' abilities by equipping them with the foundational skills and strategies they need to succeed in academics and beyond.

After a personalised initial assessment, our students embark on their Kumon journey with individualised study plans in Math and English, tailored to their own pace. By dedicating 30 minutes for each subject every day, Kumon students make steady progress, mastering concepts efficiently and gaining confidence in their abilities and building stamina needed for academic success.

Our goal is to empower them to begin self-learning new academic content within a year, unleashing their potential and fostering a growth mindset that embraces challenges.

About the Instructor

As a mother, I've always sought enriching experiences and diverse learning environments for my children. Whether academic or character-building, my search for the best opportunities for my children was always a top priority and hence our journey with KUMON started. My children had the opportunity to experience KUMON during our time living in Singapore. Upon returning to Pakistan, we felt a void in structured programs that offered both academic rigour and a foundation for independent learning.

I myself have been in the education sector formally for 8 years and I have always worked with unconventional programs. I got Certification for teaching in an International Baccalaureate program and have enjoyed being associated with student driven learning. Two years ago, I got trained in Project-based learning and have been a part of wonderful learning experiences of student led projects. While I appreciate the dynamic environment of these classrooms, I've observed that students excel in creativity, however, fostering a more independent learning attitude could further maximize their potential. When I found KUMON Pakistan I was happy to see that our upcoming generation can also have the opportunity to build and strengthen skills that will help them in all walks of life.

Although KUMON’s name is associated with excellence in Math,  it also instils in its students an attitude towards self-learning and relying on themselves to build their essential skills. In this day and age, time doesn’t wait for anyone so let us give our children this great opportunity to not wait for anyone but take control of their own learning at their own pace.

Popular Questions

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
