About this centre

KUMON CONNECT available

At Kumon, our aim is for each and every child to become an independent, advanced learner, with a positive attitude to study.

The unique Kumon programmes pursue the potential of each child, developing their ability and nurturing their independence. Following a free assessment your child will begin on the programmes at an individually set starting point, laying a solid foundation for effective learning. Their progress through the programmes will be tailored to their individual needs, ensuring your child continues to grow and achieve.

As a Kumon student, your child will develop invaluable study skills and build in confidence as they become an independent learner. Through daily study of the unique Kumon worksheets, your child will strive towards studying above the international standard for their age, enabling them to realise their potential both at school and beyond. In addition to studying an appropriate amount of work at home on a daily basis, your child will also attend the study centre up to twice a week.

Kumon’s long-term focus provides children with the self-assurance to take their learning into their own hands, increasing their motivation to succeed.

About the Instructor

Hi! I am Disha Kalra, the Kumon Roma Instructor. I am a proud mother of 2 boys; 13 and 9 years old. Who is also doing Kumon? I have a bachelor’s in business management. I have worked in a corporate firm. However, I felt called to become a Kumon Instructor.
As per Kumon’s mission.
“By discovering the potential of each individual and developing his or her ability to the maximum, Kumon aims to foster sound, capable people and thus contribute to the global community.”
Kumon has made my children confident self-learners which is very important in today’s world. I wish to help and guide every child to be a self-learner and reach his or her maximum ability as there is no limit to how much a child can grow. It will give me immense pleasure and satisfaction to see children doing work that is far above their grade level and achieve more than they can imagine.

Popular Questions

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
Kumon offers much more than extra lessons and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working in the centre, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
